Zack Greinke pitched 8 innings, allowing 2 runs, only one being earned and striking out 8 in Coors Field, earning Los Angeles’ 3-2 victory against Colorado.

Max Scherzer threw 2 hit ball over 8 innings, walking just one, beating the Rays 8-1 in Detroit.

David Peralta went 3 for 4 with a homer and 4 RBI as the Diamondbacks crushed the Pirates, 10-2.

Steve Pearce slugged the Orioles into a first place tie with his 4-5 performance, including a pair of doubles and runs batted in, topping Texas 5-2.

They owned baseball on July 3, 2014.

Earning 1/2 WOBs in losing efforts.

Vance Worley threw no hit ball early but had one bad inning that gave the Diamondbacks the lead. Pittsburgh’s bullpen imploded to turn the game into a 10-2 laugher.

R.A. Dickey threw a complete game, allowing 2 earned runs. But it was in a losing cause as the Blue Jays lost 4-1 in Oakland.

Marcell Ozuna got 3 hits, including a double, and scored a pair, in the Marlins 5-4 loss to the Phillies.

Jose Altuve went 3-5 with a double and a run scored. But the Astros fell 5-2 in Anaheim.
