Interlague Game Scores So Far In 2014: AL Leads NL 43 – 38 After A 27 – 11 Run

AL vs NL

The AL is asserting itself in the annual Interleague Series once again.

Only 2 weeks, the NL held a 26 – 17 Overall Series advantage, but then the Yankees, Angels and A’s have led the charge in reeling off 27 of the next 38 contests.

This weeks series also feature the Yanks at Wrigley Field, the Twins at Petco Park, Pirates @ Camden Yards – before the Twins wraps up the Interleague 7 days stretch at AT & T Park in SF.

I will say the Yankees and O’s will go 4 – 2 versus the National League, and the Twins will go 2 – 4 versus the Padres and Giants.

The AL’s current record is a .531 Win percentage, and the MLB Reports is on record as predicting the AL will in 161 of the 290 games for a win PCTG of .555

These wins will effect the League records at the end of the year for teams above and  below .500 if the gap is significant.

The Angels have put forth the best record in Interleague thus far – posting a 6 – 2 record, with Milwaukee faring better with WIN PCTG points ahead, but 1 win behind LAA at 5 – 1,  while the Dodgers/Royals are 4 – 1, and Giants/Marlins/A’s are all 3 – 0.

Baltimore is 2 – 0

The Phillies are mightily struggling against the Junior Circuit, with an IL worst clip of  1 – 8 in 2014 so far.  The Cubs aren’t much better for the campaign at 1 – 5.  Cincy is 1 – 4 – and the Twins hope to add a victory to their 0 – 3 IL start with 6 contests this week.

Of note, the AL East and NL  are  the best divisions in AL/NL matchups, both recording identical 18 – 11 Won Loss marks so far.

Atlanta and St. Louis have yet to play the American League, and the Bronx Bombers are the clubhouse leaders in games with 12 (7 – 5), and have a series at Wrigley upcoming starting today.

The Phillies won their 1st Interleague game of the year, (which was their season opener in Arlington) - against Texas, but have since dropped 8 straight IL contests. Texas beat them twice, and the Blue Jays and Angels both swept them in separate series, completely pummeling them. The "Phightins" are actually 18 - 14 against the National League this season.

Milwaukee swept the Boston Red Sox earlier in the year, and then took 2 out of 3 versus the Yankees last weekend, they have the best win PCTG on the year for teams playing at least 5 games. Only the Angels have more wins the Brew Crew at 6 - 2, but if this were rankings like a race, Milwaukee would be listed as the #1 team.

About chuckbooth3023

I played competitive baseball until 18 years old and had offers to play NCAA Division 1 University Baseball at Liberty University. Post-concussion symptoms from previous football and baseball head injuries forced me to retire by age 19. After two nearly made World Record Attempts in 2008, I set a New World Record by visiting all 30 MLB Parks (from 1st to last pitch) in only 24 Calendar Days in the summer 0f 2009. In April of 2012, I established yet another new GWR by visiting all 30 Parks in only 23 Calendar Days! You can see the full schedule at the page of the www.mlbreports.com/gwr-tracker . In 2015, I watched 224 MLB Games, spanning all 30 MLB Parks in 183 Days. Read about that World Record Journey at http://mlbreports.com/183in2015/229sked2015/
