Game #22 Day # 15 @12:00 PM Cubs vs Reds

Probable Pitchers:

CHC-TBD

CIN-TBD

Douglas ‘Chuck’ Booth (Baseball Writer)- The Wrigley Field and Miller Park doubleheader has been part of every streak attempt I have been apart of.  Despite being only 100 miles away from each other, you are still dealing with traffic obstacles getting out of Chicago.

Ken Lee and I will be returning the truck  to O’hare Airport in Chicago.  I needed a driver for some parts of the next 10 days including if I was to have makeup dates as part of the chase.  Ken and I concluded that our best option was to rent a car for 28 days. Ken is going on his own baseball journey after the World Record Chase is over.  I am able to offset some of his costs by nearly splitting the price for the first 11 days.  We received a great deal for a full-sized car after some diligent research About 10:30 AM, we will meet up with Bob Devries, who is the Wrigley Field Expert for this journey.

As you can see from their photo to the right, I will be with Cubs fans in Chicago.  Just a note on Bob Devries.  He is the only fan on earth (besides me) to have gone to all 30 MLB Parks in two years consecutively.  I will be happy to meet him on this day.  We are going to hit up a WrigleyVille restaurant to eat before the game.  For our seats, we will scout out the prices of the bleacher seats.  While we all love being at Wrigley Field, however we still have to consider an exit strategy after the game is over.

Bob will leave the game early and be outside the immediate area for me to sprint to.  The game plan is to have Bob drive down Sheffield Ave to W Irving Park to beat the park goers.  This street takes us right to the 90/94 highway.  Parking is not going to be cheap.  Probably in the $20-25 range.  For Chicago, New York, Boston and Philly you must add a little money to the coffers in order to pay for these parks.   There is about $7 worth of tolls on the route to pay too.  Bob is going to drive me all the way into Miller Park and let me off right near the frontAt least I will get to see the 7th inning stretch at the Park.  As I sprint out the gates in Wrigley I may also hear ‘Go Cubs Go’ if the North Siders win the game!

About chuckbooth3023

I played competitive baseball until 18 years old and had offers to play NCAA Division 1 University Baseball at Liberty University. Post-concussion symptoms from previous football and baseball head injuries forced me to retire by age 19. After two nearly made World Record Attempts in 2008, I set a New World Record by visiting all 30 MLB Parks (from 1st to last pitch) in only 24 Calendar Days in the summer 0f 2009. In April of 2012, I established yet another new GWR by visiting all 30 Parks in only 23 Calendar Days! You can see the full schedule at the page of the www.mlbreports.com/gwr-tracker . In 2015, I watched 224 MLB Games, spanning all 30 MLB Parks in 183 Days. Read about that World Record Journey at http://mlbreports.com/183in2015/229sked2015/
