Game #8 Day #5  @ 12:05 PM  Indians vs. White Sox

Probable Pitchers:

CLE-TBD

CWS-TBD

Douglas ‘Chuck’ Booth (Baseball Writer)-There are cities that I am entirely comfortable with any form of transportation.  For the city of Cleveland I would have been fine with a car rental or the light rail transportation.  I decided to go with a car for this game.  The reason is simple.  A car is actually a few minutes quicker to the airport.  Had it been Cleveland first season opener, or even just a regular summer matinée, I would have opted for the light rail commute.  This is Cleveland in an April baseball game.  The attendance will look similar to the first few scenes of Major League.

Speaking of ‘Major League’ the movie, this is one of the things I love best about the city of Cleveland.  I can’t wait until I see the first clip on the video scoreboard, or someone in the audience reference a line from the movie.  It was one of my brothers and my favorite baseball movies of all time. I have decent seats in the outfield bleachers in right field.  If the drummer guy is still there, I will see him up close.  Somehow I think I may only see a 2 person wave going at any time as well.

Parking it not that expensive in downtown Cleveland, I do have a nice full-sized car from National Car Rental to consider though. I am thinking I will park in a garage right across from the Field.  This way I can scamper to the highway after the game. The Cleveland Park Staff is a stickler for the rules, so I am not bringing my usual bottle of water to tie me over the game. I am not giving them the satisfaction of confiscating it.  I am going to wait to eat on this day. My second game of the day is at Camden Yards in Baltimore.  Boog’s BBQ pit awaits me.

I am going to be pacing back and forth for this one.  My Southwest Airlines flight leaves at 4:30, so I need a 3 hour game or under to have a chance to make the flight.  The good news is that if I make the flight, I will have 90 minutes to make it to the Orioles game.  I am so thankful for Southwest Airlines giving me the option of booking two flights to Denver in the morning on free flights.  This alleviates the pressure to make the flight to Baltimore a little more.  To break this record, I will need some luck.  A fast game in Progressive on this day is par for the course baby!!  If I miss the flight, I will be staying at a Best Western close to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.  If I make it to Baltimore, I have a room reserved at the HI Hostelling International Hostel that is 2 miles from Camden Yards.  Don’t make me hot in Cleveland!

About chuckbooth3023

I played competitive baseball until 18 years old and had offers to play NCAA Division 1 University Baseball at Liberty University. Post-concussion symptoms from previous football and baseball head injuries forced me to retire by age 19. After two nearly made World Record Attempts in 2008, I set a New World Record by visiting all 30 MLB Parks (from 1st to last pitch) in only 24 Calendar Days in the summer 0f 2009. In April of 2012, I established yet another new GWR by visiting all 30 Parks in only 23 Calendar Days! You can see the full schedule at the page of the www.mlbreports.com/gwr-tracker . In 2015, I watched 224 MLB Games, spanning all 30 MLB Parks in 183 Days. Read about that World Record Journey at http://mlbreports.com/183in2015/229sked2015/
